A walk around Wollaton Hall and Deer Park works up an appetite. Whether you have been watching the deer, circling the lake or letting the kids run off some energy, the question afterwards is always the same: where shall we eat? If you are after a Halal restaurant near Wollaton Park, we would love to be your answer.
Right on Bramcote Lane
ZHUG began life on Bramcote Lane in Wollaton, NG8, just a short hop from the park. It is where our story started and it remains our neighbourhood home. Locals know us for generous portions, fast, friendly service and Middle Eastern flavours that feel a cut above the usual takeaway.
The park is one of Nottinghamshire’s best-known days out, so we are used to hungry walkers arriving straight from the grounds. Muddy boots are welcome.
Fresh food, made for everyone
Everything is built around fresh ingredients. We bake our pitas fresh, fry our falafel to order and make our sauces in-house. The menu is fully Halal. We clearly mark vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options so the whole family, friendship group included, can eat together without anyone compromising.
You can browse the ZHUG menu before you set off.
What to order after the park
- Chicken gyros in warm fresh pita, our signature and an easy crowd-pleaser
- Fresh falafel, crisp, herb-green and naturally vegan
- Halloumi fries with a honey and za’atar drizzle
- A shared mezze spread with what many call the best hummus in Nottingham
Feeding a bigger group
Family gathering, birthday or a party back at the house after a day at the park? Our Mediterranean wedding and event catering covers everything from 30 guests to 300, with the same menu and the same kitchen.
Eat in, take away or order in
Pop in after your walk, grab something to take home, or order for delivery when the sofa is calling. However you like it, there is a warm welcome waiting on Bramcote Lane.
Book a table at ZHUG Wollaton to be sure of a seat at the weekend, or order online and take it with you.
Heading into town another evening? We have a second kitchen on Broad Street. Our guide to a pre-theatre dinner in Nottingham explains how to time it.
